ISLAMABAD – Marking a major stride toward eco-friendly transportation, Pakistani and Chinese companies have joined forces to launch a groundbreaking electric motorcycle equipped with swappable batteries. This collaboration between Pakistan's Super Asia Motors Pvt Ltd and China’s EGO New Green Energy Technology Limited is set to revolutionize the electric vehicle (EV) industry in both nations.
Hammad Khalid, a prominent business consultant, announced this exciting initiative, which aims to cater to both commercial and domestic markets. The swappable battery technology allows users to replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one in just 10 seconds, ensuring uninterrupted travel. This innovation is particularly beneficial for long journeys, enabling riders to carry an extra battery that can be swapped out at home or the office.
The new electric motorcycle boasts a top speed of 90 km/h, a range of 200 km with two batteries, and features solar-powered swappable batteries available at petrol stations. It promises to deliver cost-effective, reliable, and pollution-free transportation, saving up to 70% per kilometer compared to traditional vehicles.
Hammad further highlighted that this project brings cutting-edge technology to Pakistan with a focus on local component development and job creation, demonstrating a strong commitment to clean energy. In recent years, Pakistan and China have collaborated to expand the electric vehicle market in Pakistan, with an emphasis on promoting sustainable transportation and reducing carbon emissions.
The launch of these electric motorcycles is expected to significantly lower transportation costs for consumers while contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
