China Commends Resilience and Achievements of CPEC Development


Pakistan's Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar, emphasized the enduring significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a cornerstone of Pakistan's development strategy. Speaking at an awards ceremony honoring exceptional Pakistani talent involved in CPEC projects, Umar underscored CPEC's dual role as a catalyst for his nation's economic progress and as a pivotal component in Sino-Pak economic relations.

In a ceremony hosted by the Chinese Embassy, 27 Pakistani individuals, instrumental in various CPEC endeavors, received accolades for their remarkable contributions. These awardees expressed their gratitude to CPEC for providing them with opportunities to excel.

Umar called upon Pakistani professionals engaged with leading Chinese companies to harness these opportunities to foster the growth of these organizations, contribute to project development, and nurture their personal advancement.

Commending China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Umar hailed the visionary pursuit of shared prosperity through global connectivity. He expressed hope that countries worldwide would embrace this approach, fostering a sense of common humanity and working together for shared prosperity.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong, highlighted CPEC as a pivotal project under the BRI umbrella, providing a platform for individuals to showcase their talents and realize personal aspirations. Rong urged both Chinese and Pakistani personnel to cherish these opportunities, actively contribute to CPEC's development, and fortify the unwavering friendship between their nations.

Ying Xiong, Director General of the Department of International Affairs, Office of the Leading Group for Promoting the BRI in China, confirmed that despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, CPEC projects remained on track, with no disruptions, job losses, or withdrawal of Chinese personnel. Ying emphasized that CPEC's progress continued unabated, even achieving new milestones amidst adversity.

These accomplishments serve as a testament to the enduring friendship between China and Pakistan, illustrating the BRI's robust potential and vitality to the world.
