The Chinese embassy in Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to the development of Gwadar Port and Balochistan, rejecting misleading claims published in a UK-based article. The embassy’s spokesperson criticized the report, stating that the rhetoric lacked credibility and misrepresented China’s stance.
Dismissing the allegations, the spokesperson highlighted a series of collaborative development initiatives undertaken in Balochistan. These included $100,000 in disaster relief, the distribution of 10,000 solar lighting units, and the handover of the Gwadar-China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital and desalination plant. Additionally, China facilitated media delegations, health kit distributions, and scholarships to strengthen ties and promote progress.
The embassy emphasized that Gwadar’s transformation is a testament to the Pakistan-China partnership and reiterated its dedication to fostering regional growth and prosperity.
