The Chinese Consul General in Lahore, Zhao Shiren, expressed optimism about the strengthening of Pakistan-China relations following the 20th CPC National Congress. This significant event encompasses various development projects, notably the flagship initiative, 'CPEC.'

At a seminar titled "20th CPC Congress: Party, Policy, Prospects, and Impacts on China-Pak Relations," jointly organized by the Institute of International Relations and Media Research (IIRMR) in a local hotel, the Pak-China fraternity reached a consensus.

This unique gathering brought together Pakistani scholars and Chinese diplomats, shedding light on the outcomes of the 20th CPC National Congress. They emphasized the diversification of Pakistan-China relations and CPEC's expansion into new corridors, including health, industrial, digital, and green corridors.

Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren underscored the importance of engaging all segments of society in CPEC development, making it accessible to grassroots communities. He dispelled concerns about CPEC's slowdown, assuring that projects were back on track for successful execution.

As a significant outcome of the 20th Congress, 2023 was designated as the "China-Pakistan Year of Tourism and Exchange." Zhao Shiren announced an upcoming Gandhara Art Exhibition in Beijing's Palace Museum to showcase Pakistan's rich culture and historical ties with China. Increased direct flight operations would facilitate people-to-people exchanges.

The 20th CPC Congress reaffirmed China's commitment to global peace and development through the Belt and Road Initiative. Zhao Shiren highlighted CPEC's maturation and multidimensionality with the introduction of health, industrial, digital, and green corridors in its next phase.

Zhao Shiren praised Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's successful visit to China immediately after the Party Congress, highlighting the joint agreements reached, including advancements in the ML-1 project and cooperation in renewable energy.

IIRMR Chairman Muhammad Mehdi applauded China's progress under President Xi Jinping's leadership, emphasizing the importance of a consistent Pakistan policy regarding CPEC.

IIRMR President Yasir Habib Khan viewed the revival of CPEC as a pivotal moment in Pakistan-China relations, advocating for the use of RMB for trade transactions to bolster economic ties.

Former Diplomat Nazir Husain highlighted the strong relationship between the two countries, as evidenced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit and the comprehensive cooperation agreements reached.

Dr. Waheed Ahmad Khan emphasized the significant impact of the 20th CPC Congress on Pakistan's foreign policy, calling for a nuanced interpretation of its messages.

Dr. Qais Aslam praised the robust and historic relations between Pakistan and China, particularly under President Xi's Belt and Road vision.

PU Prof Dr. Amjad Abbas Magsi acknowledged China's vision for a shared future and its role in promoting world peace and development.

Jawad Saleem, Chairman of the Agricultural Committee of the Lahore Chamber Of Commerce, also contributed to the discussion.
