Expanding Chinese Investment in Balochistan through CPEC

Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai emphasized the pivotal role of Balochistan in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during a webinar titled "The Economic Development and Public Welfare through CPEC," hosted by the Communist Party of China. Yasinzai lauded Gwadar Port as the crown jewel of this ambitious project, highlighting the growing influx of Chinese investments in Balochistan.

Prominent attendees at the webinar included Song Tao, Minister for International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee; Yao Jing, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan; Sadiq Sanjrani, Chairman of the Senate; Senators Mushahid Hussain and Sherry Rehman; and leaders from various political parties.

Governor Yasinzai reaffirmed Balochistan's commitment to CPEC and expressed a desire for increased cooperation with local Chinese governments, such as Jiangxi Province, to advance CPEC construction. He underscored the transformative impact of China's Belt and Road initiative, which aimed to foster a shared future for humanity.

Yasinzai highlighted that CPEC, as the flagship project of this initiative, offered a significant opportunity for both nations to achieve sustainable growth and economic prosperity.

Addressing criticisms and smear campaigns against China, particularly regarding Xinjiang's development, Yasinzai firmly stood with China and CPEC. He commended China's efforts in ensuring the well-being of the Xinjiang people, challenging Western double standards on human rights.

Regarding China's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Yasinzai praised China's global humanitarian leadership in providing assistance to numerous countries, including Pakistan. He noted Pakistan's early support for China during the epidemic.

Expressing gratitude to the IDCPC (International Department Communist Party of China), Yasinzai appreciated the platform it provided for political parties to voice their perspectives, suggestions, and reservations concerning Sino-Pak cooperation, both diplomatically and economically. He emphasized the importance of dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders.

Governor Yasinzai concluded by extending his readiness to assist both Chinese and Pakistani leaders, underscoring the potential for mutual cooperation and understanding to lead to a prosperous future for their people.
