The New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) has reached a significant milestone with the completion of its high-tech telecommunication infrastructure. This advancement integrates cutting-edge systems for transmitting voice, data, and audio-visual signals, ensuring robust and secure communication capabilities.
The telecommunication setup includes sophisticated transmission and switching systems, complemented by the installation of a modern navigational system equipped with radio-electric and visual aids to assist aircraft and airport vehicles. Additionally, fiber optic cables have been installed, and the perimeter fencing around NGIA has been completed.
As part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, the NGIA, with an investment of Rs. 60.208 billion, is a collaborative effort between China and Pakistan. The airport features a state-of-the-art runway, a modern terminal, and comprehensive infrastructure capable of handling both narrow and wide-body aircraft for domestic and international flights.
