A high-level Chinese business delegation, led by Consul General Yang Yundong, has expressed interest in investing $1 billion to establish a cutting-edge medical city in Pakistan. The proposed medical city is expected to greatly enhance the country's healthcare capabilities and create significant advancements in medical services. This ambitious investment aligns with China's growing involvement in key sectors of Pakistan’s economy.
The delegation met with President Asif Ali Zardari in Karachi, where discussions focused on further investment in vital sectors, including agriculture, energy, manufacturing, transportation, and livestock. The potential for strengthening bilateral ties was a key highlight of the meeting, with both sides emphasizing the importance of increased trade and people-to-people engagement.
The President welcomed the Chinese initiative and reiterated the shared commitment to transforming Gwadar Port into a regional economic hub. He assured the delegation of Pakistan's full support for future investments, including the introduction of Chinese language courses in Sindh as part of the cultural exchange initiative.
The meeting also saw the participation of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and various provincial ministers, showcasing the collective effort to foster closer economic and trade relations between the two countries.
