Revolutionizing Pakistan's Energy Landscape: CPEC Wind Power Initiatives in Action

CPEC Wind Power Initiatives in Action

In an impactful revelation, CPEC wind power projects are set to reshape Pakistan's energy terrain, as highlighted in a recent report by China Economic Net (CEN).

In the expansive Jhimpir desert, Sindh, a multitude of wind turbines operates ceaselessly, providing consistent and eco-friendly energy to the national grid. Peerzada Zain ul Abideen, the O&M manager of PowerChina HDEC Engineering Company Limited Pakistan, proudly shared that their 12 projects in Jhimpir have already generated an impressive 1888.29 GWh of electricity.

Zain ul Abideen, honored in 2022 for outstanding contributions to CPEC projects, played a pivotal role in coordinating with project management teams during the engineering and execution phases.

Renewable energy, especially wind power, has gained prominence on the Pakistani government's agenda. Chinese power companies are now integral to Pakistan's mission to harness wind potential and revolutionize its energy infrastructure.

In Gharo, Sindh, Muhammad Saleem Munshi, CFO of Hydrochina Dawood Power (Pvt) Limited, proudly notes the positive impact of the 49.5 MW Dawood Wind Power Project. It not only revitalized a closed school, benefiting approximately 600 families in the village but also created job opportunities for over 30 villagers who now serve as security guards.

Muhammad Waqas, Director Finance of the UEP 100MW wind farm in Jhimpir, lauds his choice of a career in wind power. Recognized in 2022 for outstanding contributions, Waqas emphasizes the continuous transfer of advanced mechanisms from Chinese counterparts to Pakistan. He envisions wind power alone producing double the required electricity for the country.

As the demand for wind power grows, along with increased investments and advancements in technology, this emerging sector attracts both capital and talent. The reduction in project development, construction, and operational costs over time is expected to lower power tariffs, fostering heightened economic activities in Pakistan. Witness the unfolding transformation as CPEC wind power initiatives pave the way for a sustainable and dynamic energy future.
