Turkmenistan Becomes First Central Asian Nation to Access Gwadar Port
Turkmenistan is poised to become the inaugural Central Asian country with direct access to Gwadar port, facilitated by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). An agreement between Pakistan and Turkmenistan is imminent, with both nations set to formalize their partnership soon.
The Pakistani government has established a committee to review the draft agreement involving Gwadar Port and Turkmenbashi Port under CPEC. This significant development marks a step forward in enhancing regional connectivity.
Additionally, Turkmenistan and Pakistan are collaborating on several major projects, including the TAPI pipeline, a new rail track, and fiber optic links, which aim to strengthen connections between South and Central Asia.
