Speaking to China Economic Net, Ambassador Hashmi underlined Pakistan’s ambition to expand cooperation in AI, blockchain, and next-generation communications. China’s leadership in patents and breakthroughs in electric vehicles and renewable energy opens doors for collaborative research and application-based partnerships.
Under CPEC Phase II, Pakistan is focusing on government-to-government (G2G) and business-to-business (B2B) initiatives, with over $600 million in new MOUs signed in sectors like agriculture, IT, and manufacturing. Education and technical training remain central to linking research with commercial applications. Notably, Pakistan’s first astronauts will soon join China’s space mission, marking another milestone in bilateral ties.
China’s high-level opening-up policy presents new trade, tourism, and investment opportunities for Pakistan. Streamlining visa procedures is a key priority to enhance travel and people-to-people exchanges. Experts believe deeper collaboration will strengthen China’s trade access to South Asia, offering strategic advantages through diversified routes and expanded global outreach.
Joint initiatives in IT, robotics, AI, and blockchain are expected to drive innovation, positioning China as a leading development partner in the Global South. As Pakistan mobilizes investments across eight priority sectors, its economic relationship with China continues to flourish, reinforcing the ironclad friendship between the two nations.
