NLC Launches Landmark China-UAE Trade Route via CPEC

Milestone Achieved in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Progress

NLC Launches Landmark China-UAE Trade Route via CPEC

The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has marked a major milestone by initiating trade goods delivery from China to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through Pakistan’s land-sea route under the international road transport system (TIR). This development, a pivotal achievement of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), introduces a more efficient route for goods movement between China and Gulf countries.

A truck carrying electronic equipment departed Kashgar, Xinjiang, for Dubai's Jebel Ali Port, passing through Pakistan. The journey began at NLC’s Dry Port in Sost, Gilgit-Baltistan, celebrated with a ceremony. The route enables goods to travel from Kashgar to Karachi in just eight days, with an additional two days to ship to the UAE via sea—a total of 10 days compared to the month-long sea-only route.

This new route benefits the business community, offering efficiency and reliability. NLC officials noted increasing trade volume potential, with expected annual trips surpassing 1,000 vehicles. The Khunjerab Pass, now operational year-round, strengthens its role as a strategic trade gateway between Europe and South Asia, further boosting regional trade.

This initiative underscores the CPEC's operational growth, promising immense economic advantages and fostering stronger trade ties between China, Pakistan, and the Gulf region.
