Punjab Minister for Communication and Works, Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth, conducted a detailed inspection of the Faisalabad–Chiniot dual road project on Tuesday. This 24-kilometre provincial infrastructure initiative plays a vital role in enhancing regional connectivity under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.
During the visit, Minister Bharth was accompanied by Chiniot Deputy Commissioner Sufiyullah Gondal and senior officials. The inspection covered the stretch from Kamalpur Interchange to Tehsil Chowk Chiniot, where officials confirmed that 19 kilometres of earthwork, sub-base, and base course have been completed, with asphalt laid on 12 kilometres.
Bharth emphasised the need to complete the Faisalabad Bypass–Chiniot Bypass section by December 2025, insisting on strict adherence to construction quality standards. He highlighted that improved road infrastructure would not only facilitate smoother logistics but also boost industrial exports, particularly in areas connected to CPEC projects, such as the Allama Iqbal Industrial City Special Economic Zone.
The minister also reviewed the progress of land acquisition for the Chiniot–Sargodha Road, a critical link expected to enhance connectivity to CPEC’s western route and further strengthen regional transportation networks.
