Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his satisfaction over the successful launch of flight operations at Gwadar International Airport, underscoring its significance in transforming the region into a key hub for trade and connectivity. He referred to the inauguration as a critical milestone in connecting Gwadar to Central and Eastern Asia, the Middle East, and Gulf countries.
In his statement, PM Shehbaz emphasized that the airport’s operationalization is a vital step toward enhancing regional connectivity, aligning with the vision of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He highlighted how this development contributes to regional growth and prosperity, a shared goal of Chinese President Xi Jinping and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged China's instrumental support in Pakistan’s development, noting the airport as a testament to the strong Pakistan-China relationship. He thanked the leadership of China, Balochistan’s Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, and key military and security personnel for their tireless efforts in making the project a reality.
