Chinese and Pakistani officials signed multiple memorandums of understanding (MoUs) aimed at advancing industrial and economic projects in Karachi, with the support of the Sindh government. These agreements encompass the local assembly of electric vehicles, manufacturing solar panels, algae farming, and establishing a medical city in the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone.

During the signing ceremony hosted by Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, senior officials, including Sharjeel Inam Memon and Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, highlighted the significance of these initiatives. Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and China, crediting the PPP government for initiating CPEC. The Dhabeji Economic Zone, linked to CPEC, is a pivotal site for these developments, offering a 10-year tax exemption to industries.

Chinese investors showed keen interest in various sectors, including a state-of-the-art medical city that promises to generate 50,000 jobs. Additionally, plans for solar parks, coal gasification plants, and fertilizer production aim to tackle energy and agricultural challenges, fostering economic self-reliance. The Sindh government reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating Chinese investments and expanding industrial opportunities, creating employment and boosting exports.
