In a key step towards enhancing workforce skills in Pakistan, China is set to establish technical training centres aimed at empowering local youth. This initiative was confirmed during a meeting between Secretary of Education Mr Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani and a Chinese delegation led by Mr Wang Dang, Chairman of CIIC Technology Group Co. Ltd.
The training centres will focus on equipping Pakistani youth with practical, employment-oriented skills tailored to the needs of Chinese companies operating under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative. Mr Wani addressed the challenges facing Pakistan’s education sector, many of which have been exacerbated by climate change. He shared updates on ongoing government initiatives, including educational infrastructure upgrades, teacher training, improved school access, and student nutrition programmes.
Mr Wang expressed his strong support for the Ministry's efforts, praising the untapped potential of Pakistan’s youth. He also highlighted the importance of deepening bilateral educational collaboration to ensure long-term development and mutual growth between the two nations.
