At the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference on Leather and Footwear in Guangzhou, China, Chinese and Pakistani companies signed 12 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) valued at a total of $156 million. The Acting Consul General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, Sardar Muhammad, welcomed participants, highlighting Pakistan's readiness for partnerships and investment in the sector. Sardar Muhammad emphasized Pakistan's favorable environment for joint ventures, encouraging stakeholders to explore the incentives available.
Over 150 business meetings took place, involving seven Pakistani and 46 Chinese companies. These interactions resulted in more than 12 MoUs and a Letter of Intent (LoI) worth $15 million, adding to the impressive total of $156 million. Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Secretary of Pakistan's Board of Investment, outlined Pakistan’s investment policies, extending an invitation to Chinese businesses to consider Pakistan a key destination for leather and footwear investment. Meanwhile, Suilong Liu, Vice Director of the China Leather Industry Association, praised Pakistan’s potential as an attractive site for investment, noting China’s status as a major importer of raw leather and a leading exporter of leather and footwear products.
