Government to establish of Business Support Hubs for CPEC Projects


Industries Secretary Javed Marwat emphasized the provincial government's commitment to establishing business facilitation centers at the divisional level. During a meeting with the business community, he discussed the multifaceted nature of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), recognizing its potential for development and challenges for both the government and entrepreneurs.

In response to CPEC, the government is proactively setting up help desks and facilitation centers to empower the business community. KPBOIT Chairman Ehsan Daud, present at the meeting, urged industrialists to leverage innovative approaches in establishing their ventures. He also highlighted the government's efforts to streamline business processes through a dedicated task force.

Mr. Daud emphasized that the government had eliminated numerous taxes in the recent budget and reduced tax duplication. Furthermore, former FPCCI Vice-President Haji Iftikhar Ahmad called for the State Bank of Pakistan to establish a branch in Abbottabad, enhancing financial accessibility.

On August 12, 2020, the Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah organized a groundbreaking 'Pakistan Investment Seminar' online. Consul General Khalid Majeed chaired the event, attended by officials from the Sindh Board of Investment and business leaders. The seminar showcased diverse investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Balochistan Investment Board Chairman Farman Zarkoon highlighted the province's potential for investment and job creation. He encouraged companies worldwide, including those from Saudi Arabia, to explore profitable investment avenues in Pakistan. Notably, Zarkoon shed light on the incentives and advantages available to investors in the Gwadar Free Trade Zone, as well as the Special Economic Zones in Hub and Bostan.
