South Korea Seeks Major Collaborations with Pakistan, Inspired by CPEC Success, Says Ambassador Park Ki Jun

South Korean Ambassador Park Ki Jun has expressed optimism about the potential for South Korea and Pakistan to collaborate on large-scale projects modeled after the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs Channel, Ambassador Park praised the strategic significance of CPEC, suggesting that a similar approach could enhance cooperation between South Korea and Pakistan in various sectors, including energy and infrastructure.

The Ambassador emphasized that Pakistan’s highly skilled workforce, despite facing liquidity challenges, presents a valuable resource. He noted that South Korean IT companies are eager to tap into this talent pool and establish their businesses in Pakistan, leveraging the country's youthful and skilled population.

Ambassador Park also highlighted the need to increase trade between the two nations, pointing out that the current trade volume of 1.2 billion dollars falls short of their potential. He underscored Pakistan’s abundant natural resources and dynamic human capital, which, combined with South Korea’s technological advancements and economic prowess, could lead to mutually beneficial outcomes.

On cultural ties, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of deepening people-to-people connections and noted South Korea's admiration for Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, particularly the Gandhara civilization. He announced plans for a week-long Korea-Pakistan Gala to be held in Islamabad this October, where government officials and artists from both countries will gather to celebrate and strengthen bilateral relations.
