Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, reaffirmed the deep-rooted Pakistan-China friendship, calling it “as strong as the Himalayas” during a ceremony at the Chinese Consulate in Karachi. The event marked the handover of solar power systems donated by China to Balochistan. Mandokhail praised China as Pakistan’s “all-weather friend,” highlighting its continuous support for the province’s progress.
The hybrid solar systems are set to transform schools, hospitals, mosques, and community centers by providing uninterrupted power, enhancing education, healthcare, and community welfare. The initiative reflects China’s commitment to improving Balochistan’s socio-economic conditions beyond diplomatic ties.
Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong described the donation as a testament to the strong strategic partnership between the two nations. He emphasized China’s unwavering support for Balochistan’s development, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Projects like the Gwadar Port, Gwadar China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital, and Gwadar Desalination Plant further reinforce this commitment.
The consulate’s donation of 38 solar-powered systems to districts such as Kalat, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Zhob, Nushki, and Khuzdar aims to reduce dependency on unreliable power grids and uplift living standards. The initiative has been widely welcomed by community leaders, school officials, and healthcare professionals, who see it as a symbol of enduring friendship between China and Pakistan.
