Solar Pakistan 2025: Chinese Firms Drive Renewable Energy Growth

Solar Pakistan 2025, the nation’s premier alternative energy exhibition, concluded on February 23 at Lahore’s Expo Centre, marking a significant step forward in Pakistan’s renewable energy transformation. This year’s event, the largest in its history, expanded across five halls and hosted over 350 exhibitors from 10 countries, with Chinese enterprises leading the way by showcasing cutting-edge solar and energy storage solutions tailored to Pakistan’s evolving energy landscape.

A key highlight of the exhibition was the participation of 148 Chinese companies, underscoring their commitment to advancing Pakistan’s clean energy future. Sungrow, a global leader in inverter and energy storage solutions, exhibited for the fifth time, introducing its latest residential and commercial energy storage systems designed to tackle Pakistan’s grid stability challenges. Strengthening its collaboration with local industry, Sungrow signed an MOU with Artistic Milliners for a major energy storage project.

Dong Jin Group, another key Chinese exhibitor, presented a diverse product lineup featuring residential and commercial inverters, lithium batteries, and EV batteries. The company emphasized Pakistan’s growing solar market potential, aligning with the government's goal of developing sustainable energy cities. Dong Jin’s General Manager, Hu Ge, expressed confidence in Pakistan’s solar-plus-storage market expansion, announcing the company’s participation in an upcoming Karachi-based solar expo.

The exhibition attracted major stakeholders, including policymakers, investors, manufacturers, and distributors, fostering international partnerships for Pakistan’s clean energy growth. Shah Jahan Mirza, Managing Director of the Private Power & Infrastructure Board (PPIB), praised the contribution of Chinese firms, highlighting their pivotal role in strengthening Pakistan’s solar infrastructure.
