In a move that strengthens Pakistan-China scientific cooperation, the University of Sargodha (UoS) and China’s Zaozhuang School of Technology (ZST) have formalised an agreement to establish a Joint Research Centre on Lithium Batteries at UoS. This initiative, aimed at advancing clean energy and sustainable mobility solutions, marks a strategic investment in lithium battery innovation—an area of increasing global significance.
As reported by Sources, the collaboration will cover key areas such as material science, energy storage systems, and emerging battery-related technologies. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) paves the way for an extensive academic and research partnership. Both institutions will engage in faculty and researcher exchange programmes, student training, and joint academic supervision, as well as co-host seminars and workshops.
The long-term vision includes collaborative research projects, patent development, and the creation of specialised academic programmes to cultivate local expertise and foster innovation in this high-priority technological sector. This partnership reflects a mutual commitment to capacity building and knowledge sharing in clean energy research, positioning Pakistan as an active contributor to the global transition towards sustainable power solutions.
