Participants of the 27th National Security Workshop recently visited Gwadar to gain firsthand understanding of the region’s strategic significance under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The visit focused on Gwadar Port operations, coastal surveillance, and ongoing efforts to maintain a secure environment for trade and investment.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Gwadar provided an in-depth briefing on the regional security situation, stressing the importance of peace, stability, and protection of local development projects. Participants were briefed on coordinated security operations to combat terrorism, prevent smuggling, and safeguard the coastal areas.
A detailed session at the China Business Center Gwadar highlighted current and upcoming development projects at the port, reflecting the city’s growing role as a regional trade hub. Attendees also visited Pakistan Point Gwadar and a Pakistan Naval Ship, emphasizing the strategic and economic importance of the region.
The participants expressed appreciation for the Pakistan Army’s efforts in establishing security, facilitating investments, and accelerating development across the Makran Division. The visit underscored Gwadar’s pivotal role in national security and economic growth under the CPEC framework, highlighting the city’s transformation into a thriving hub of opportunity.
