China-Pakistan Talks on Advanced Waste Treatment and Energy Solutions


President Asif Ali Zardari has underlined the urgent need for Pakistan to adopt modern waste management and waste-to-energy solutions, with a particular focus on Sindh. He welcomed potential collaboration with China in this critical sector, recognising the role of advanced technology in addressing growing urban challenges.

The remarks came during his meeting with Mr. Zhu Xiaoping, CEO and Co-founder of SUS Environment Technology Company Limited, held in Shanghai on Tuesday. The discussions centred around urban waste management strategies, waste-to-energy projects, and integrated treatment systems that could enhance Pakistan’s environmental sustainability.

Mr. Zhu Xiaoping highlighted SUS Environment’s expertise in advanced waste treatment and expressed keen interest in exploring investment opportunities within Pakistan. The meeting also reflected the shared vision of Pakistan and China to strengthen cooperation in green development and infrastructure.

The First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, along with Sindh Ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, were present during the discussions.
