Pakistan and China have taken another step toward strengthening educational and industrial cooperation with the launch of the “Luban College – Up We Build (UWB) College” at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). The initiative has been jointly inaugurated by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) Pakistan Office and NUST, reflecting growing collaboration in talent development for the construction and engineering sectors.
The college is named after Luban, the legendary ancient Chinese master craftsman and architectural innovator who symbolizes creativity, precision, and excellence. Established under CSCEC’s global “Luban Craftsman Program,” the initiative follows the guiding vision of “Inspire to Rise, Build to Thrive” and focuses on nurturing skilled professionals for the construction industry worldwide.

The plaque unveiling ceremony was jointly presided over by Mr. Wang Yaodong, General Manager of CSCEC Pakistan, and Professor Dr. Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector of NUST. Speaking at the event, Wang Yaodong emphasized that Luban College would act as a bridge for long-term cooperation between CSCEC and Pakistani universities, particularly in talent cultivation, technical knowledge sharing, and industry-education integration.
Professor Dr. Rizwan Riaz acknowledged CSCEC’s role in supporting infrastructure development across Pakistan and welcomed the establishment of the college at NUST. He expressed optimism that Luban College would evolve into a key platform for hands-on engineering training, applied research, and innovation, contributing to the development of highly skilled technical professionals in the country.
Looking ahead, CSCEC Pakistan plans to utilize the Luban College platform to offer skills training, academic exchanges, and joint educational programs. These efforts are expected to enhance local construction capabilities while strengthening technical collaboration and cultural ties between Pakistan and China.
