The Pakistan Study Centre at Shandong University was officially inaugurated on Friday by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, alongside Executive Vice President Wu Zhen and university faculty. The new Centre represents a significant step in strengthening academic cooperation between Pakistan and China, fostering research, dialogue, and educational exchanges, with particular emphasis on agriculture and fisheries.

During his remarks, Ambassador Hashmi expressed gratitude to the university leadership for supporting the initiative, highlighting the growing momentum in Pakistan-China relations across education, research, and innovation sectors. He emphasized that Shandong’s global recognition for its progressive reforms in agriculture and fisheries makes it an ideal location for the Centre, underlining the value of academic platforms in building long-term people-to-people linkages.
The Centre is designed to function as a hub for Pakistan-focused studies, collaborative research projects, B2B initiatives, and active student engagement. Shandong University’s vibrant academic environment and global perspective provide a strong foundation for the Centre’s future success.
Prior to the inauguration, Ambassador Hashmi met with Executive Vice President Wu Zhen to discuss strategies for maximizing the Centre’s potential in academia and research, especially in agriculture and fisheries. The Ambassador also toured the Shandong University Museum, gaining insights into the university’s rich educational heritage.
