Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mutahir Niaz Rana, chaired a pivotal meeting of the Policy Board overseeing GHSS and the Gwadar Development Authority Hospital in Quetta. During this meeting, the Director General of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) provided a comprehensive update on the progress of GHSS and GDA Hospital. Notably, the policy board endorsed the hiring of seven more lecturers for GHSS, including for Cambridge classes. Furthermore, the board sanctioned the recruitment of extra teachers for the primary section and greenlit the establishment of an IT-based Learning Management Service at GHSS.
In a progressive move, the Chief Secretary declined a proposal to raise school fees and instead sanctioned a 10% salary increase for schoolteachers.
On October 25th, the Government of Balochistan met a longstanding demand by appointing a Vice-Chancellor for the University of Gwadar.
Back in 2017, the University of Turbat's sub-campus embarked on its academic journey with just four programs spanning four departments. Today, it has evolved into a full-fledged University of Gwadar, dedicated to imparting knowledge in diverse fields such as science, technology, engineering, arts, humanities, marine sciences, port management, social sciences, administration, management, law, medicine, agriculture, and other high-demand subjects.
