In a significant development, the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi, representing the People's Republic of China, has given the green light to a plan aimed at assisting orphaned students in Gwadar.
The Balochistan Government's Education Department has diligently compiled a list of 1,201 orphans residing in Gwadar for this noble initiative. A substantial sum of RMB 350,000 has been allocated to support this endeavor. Approximately two-thirds of this fund will be dedicated to procuring essential school supplies, including school bags and stationary items, to benefit these students.
The remaining portion of the fund will be distributed directly to the orphans as cash assistance. The China Overseas Ports Holding Company, in collaboration with the Gwadar District Administration and the Education Department, has meticulously deliberated and devised a distribution mechanism to ensure that the assistance reaches those in need.
An official from the Gwadar District Administration revealed to Gwadar Pro that China's diplomatic missions in Pakistan, supported by Chinese enterprises operating in Gwadar, have intensified their efforts to promote socioeconomic and human resources development projects within Gwadar. Furthermore, ongoing initiatives to upgrade schools in Gwadar are actively in progress.
Notably, the Chinese consulate recently provided 10,000 free bags of ration flour to deserving families in Gwadar, with each family receiving three 10 kg bags. This generous gesture primarily benefited members of the fishing community in the area.
