Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, highlighted that the upcoming Gwadar airport and the launch of CPEC-II are set to create significant opportunities for economic growth in Pakistan. In a recent interview, he emphasized the importance of these initiatives, stating that they will not only enhance connectivity but also promote business activities in the region.
Iqbal elaborated on plans to initiate five economic corridors with the support of China, which will facilitate trade and investment. He suggested that establishing a cargo hub in Gwadar could further stimulate business activities, particularly benefiting the local population of Balochistan.
Additionally, Iqbal discussed the potential of reviving trade routes to Oman, aiming to boost economic activity in the area. He pointed out that strengthened rail and road links through the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will play a vital role in fostering robust business relations with Central Asian states and Europe.
