The new flight schedule includes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday operations, covering routes from Karachi to Gwadar, Gwadar to Karachi, Muscat to Gwadar, and Gwadar to Muscat. Specifically:
Monday: PK-503 & PK-504 (Karachi-Gwadar-Karachi) and PK-197 & PK-198 (Muscat-Gwadar-Muscat).
Wednesday: PK-503 & PK-504 (Karachi-Gwadar-Karachi).
Friday: PK-503 & PK-504 (Karachi-Gwadar-Karachi) and PK-197 & PK-198 (Muscat-Gwadar-Muscat).
This increase in flight frequency is expected to enhance connectivity, tourism, and business opportunities in Gwadar. A Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) official stated that private airlines, including Fly Jinnah, Air Sial, Air Blue, and Serene Air, have already submitted requests to operate flights through NGIA, indicating further expansion in the near future.
An Air Sial representative highlighted NGIA’s attractive incentives, such as zero landing, parking, and housing charges, making it a lucrative destination for airlines.
Covering 4,300 acres, NGIA is Pakistan’s second-largest airport and is designed to accommodate aircraft such as ATR 72, Boeing B-737, Airbus A-380, and Boeing B-747 for both domestic and international operations. The airport officially began commercial operations on January 20, 2025, with the successful landing of PIA Flight PK-503 from Karachi, marking a significant milestone in Gwadar’s journey toward becoming a regional hub for trade and connectivity.
