Gwadar’s New Airport Ready for January 20 Takeoff

Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has officially announced that the New Gwadar International Airport will commence operations on January 20. This development positions Gwadar as a central hub for domestic and international flights, enhancing the region's connectivity.

The CAA confirmed this milestone through a notification, with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) operating the initial flights. Several local and foreign airlines have shown interest in launching services to and from the airport, which promises to boost economic activity and promote tourism in Gwadar.

Located in Balochistan, the airport represents Pakistan’s commitment to advancing infrastructure within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The facility is equipped to handle larger aircraft and international flights, offering modern amenities and robust security. It aims to foster trade, tourism, and business in the strategically important city of Gwadar.

The opening of the New Gwadar International Airport is expected to significantly improve transport and logistics, vital to establishing Gwadar as a global trade and maritime hub.

This development aligns with Pakistan’s broader vision to enhance regional growth, positioning Gwadar as a focal point for international travellers and commerce.
