New Gwadar International Airport Secures Continuous 12MW Power Supply

NGIA Achieves 24/7 Electricity with Connection to National Grid

New Gwadar International Airport Secures Continuous 12MW Power Supply

In a significant milestone, New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) is now fully operational with a continuous 12MW power supply, thanks to its recent connection to the National Grid. The Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has ensured a reliable electricity provision, with commercial tariffs applied per unit of consumption, a QESCO representative shared with Gwadar Pro.

To guarantee uninterrupted power, NGIA will receive electricity around the clock through three dedicated transmission lines. These lines are designed to provide a seamless backup system—if one fails, the next will automatically take over, ensuring a steady supply.

The first power source is a 286-kilometer-long, 132kv dual-circuit transmission line extending from Naal-Basima-Naag-Panjgur. The second source connects via the Mund-Pishin-Turbat transmission line, while the third is supplied through the Gabd-Remden line to the Jiwini-Gwadar Grid Station.
