31 TEVTA Students Begin Studies in China under Dual Diploma Programme

A new chapter for Pakistan-China educational cooperation through TEVTA’s dual diploma initiative

P.c. China Pakistan Economic Corridor

Thirty-one students from Punjab have departed for China under the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Punjab’s Dual Diploma Programme, marking another milestone in strengthening Pakistan-China educational collaboration.

According to Sources, this group represents the second batch of 70 students selected for the initiative, which is designed to promote technical education and international skill development.

Among the participants, 20 students are pursuing a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Software Technology at the Government College of Technology (GCT) PGA Lahore, while 11 students specialise in Advanced Construction Technology at GCT Taxila.

The Dual Diploma Programme operates under a collaboration between Punjab TEVTA and the Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SIIT), China. The three-year programme combines two years of study in Pakistan with a final academic year in China, offering courses across four key disciplines: Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Textile Technology, and Advanced Construction Technology.

The first batch of students recently returned to Pakistan after successfully completing their third academic year in China, bringing back valuable global insights and hands-on technical experience.

TEVTA officials emphasised that the initiative aims to equip young Pakistanis with globally relevant skills, foster cross-cultural understanding, and enhance people-to-people ties between the two nations — reinforcing a shared commitment to progress through education and innovation.
