A significant milestone in Pakistan-China cooperation was achieved on May 15 with the signing of a five-party framework agreement aimed at boosting technical and vocational education. The collaboration includes Punjab TEVTA, Shandong College of Electronic Technology, Lancmall (SMC-Private) Limited, Government College of Technology for Women Lytton Road Lahore, and ITMC Technology Co. Ltd.
At the heart of this initiative is the launch of Ban-Mo Academy, a new vocational institute set to operate within GCT Lytton Road, Lahore. The academy will offer cross-border e-commerce training, targeting skill development for youth, with a strong focus on empowering girls. It will feature a dedicated vocational skills centre, short-term e-commerce courses, advanced training for master-level professionals, and digital upskilling programs aligned with Chinese corporate systems and global digital markets.
This collaborative effort supports Pakistan’s “Digital Pakistan” strategy by fostering practical, tech-driven training in emerging industries. By integrating Chinese educational practices and business models, the project aims to bridge skills gaps, promote gender inclusion, and enhance economic integration between Pakistan and China. The vocational drive is expected to create new employment pathways and prepare the next generation for success in the digital economy.
