Pakistan and China have further strengthened their collaboration in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector with a series of new agreements. The development took place at the China-Pakistan International TVET-Industrial Cooperation and Exchange Seminar in Beijing, organized by the China Pakistan TVET-Industrial Centre of Excellence (CPTICE).

The seminar brought together more than 50 participants, including senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training alongside representatives from over 10 Chinese institutions. During the event, five prominent Chinese universities and vocational colleges officially joined CPTICE, expanding the alliance. These include North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, Wuxi University of Technology, Lanzhou Resources and Environment Voc-Tech University, Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College, and Tianmen Vocational College.

In addition, five new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with leading Chinese institutions in key sectors such as electric vehicles (EVs), agriculture, intelligent manufacturing, and infrastructure. The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training confirmed that 11 Chinese institutions also joined the Pakistan-China International Industrial-Academic Integration Alliance (CPIA).

To further enhance collaboration, eight Chinese experts were appointed to the CPIA expert bank in strategic industries including pharmaceuticals, automotive, and agri-engineering, officially establishing the alliance’s expert database. A Teacher Training Platform was also launched, aiming to build Pakistan’s capacity in vocational training and equip youth with advanced skills.

This milestone marks a significant step in bilateral cooperation, empowering Pakistani students and professionals with cutting-edge expertise while fostering a stronger Pakistan-China shared future.
