First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has called for expanding cultural, tourism, and educational exchanges between Pakistan and China to strengthen bilateral relations and people-to-people connections.
In a meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr with Ms Hao, President of the China-Asia-Africa Trade Promotion Office, Aseefa Bhutto praised China’s leadership as a global investor in renewable energy. She said Pakistan, being an agriculture-based economy, could gain immensely from China’s advanced agricultural technologies and expertise. The first lady emphasized that Pakistan is adopting modern irrigation systems to enhance efficiency and reduce water wastage in the agriculture sector.
Ms Hao shared that Pakistan and China will celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year, offering a valuable opportunity to deepen cooperation in student exchanges, cultural programs, and vocational training for farmers. She extended an invitation to Aseefa Bhutto to visit China and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize these initiatives.
Senator Sherry Rehman and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla were also present at the meeting, reflecting the government’s strong commitment to furthering cooperation with China in key sectors that promote sustainable growth and cultural understanding.
