ISLAMABAD, Sep 12 – The China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) and the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) have formalized a significant new partnership with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation at the All China Leather Exhibition in Shanghai. This marks the first formal agreement between the two organizations, highlighting a new era in high-level Sino-Pakistani leather industry collaboration.

The agreement outlines plans to strengthen bilateral ties, facilitate trade delegations, and enhance enterprise cooperation. Both nations will also collaborate on participating in leather industry exhibitions. The memorandum aims to leverage China’s advanced technologies to boost Pakistan’s leather processing capabilities and product quality, while Pakistan contributes its rich raw material resources and cost-effective labor.

This collaboration follows recent activities that underscore the growing relationship between the two countries in the leather sector. In August, Lahore hosted the China-Pakistan Footwear B2B Meeting and Expo, and a Chinese delegation from the Association of Guangdong Shoes Manufacturers and the Guangdong Footwear Materials Industry Association visited Pakistan to explore future partnership opportunities.
