Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong emphasized China's commitment to collaborating with Pakistan to develop an upgraded version of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Speaking at a Chinese language competition at the National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad, Ambassador Jiang highlighted the enduring China-Pakistan friendship, describing it as stable and robust. He noted that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and Pakistani leaders, the partnership has evolved into an All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, advancing CPEC to a new phase.
The ambassador detailed CPEC’s transformative impact, with $25.4 billion in direct investment, over 236,000 jobs, 510 km of highways, and 8,000 megawatts of electricity generated. He expressed optimism about expanding cooperation in various fields to bolster Pakistan’s economy and improve livelihoods.
Ambassador Jiang also praised Pakistan’s strategic geographic location, rich natural resources, and youthful demographics, which position it for significant economic growth. Highlighting Pakistan’s progress under its new government, he noted reduced inflation, increased exports, and stabilized GDP.
He reaffirmed China’s role in fostering Pakistan’s development through educational collaboration and talent training, underscoring the strong bond between the two nations.
