CPEC Creates Jobs and Boosts Pakistan-China Cooperation


The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has attracted $25.4 billion in direct investment, creating 236,000 jobs, constructing 510 kilometers of highways, generating over 8,000 megawatts of electricity, and developing 886 kilometers of core transmission infrastructure in Pakistan.

Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong highlighted these achievements during a ceremony at the Chinese Embassy on Friday. The event also saw Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal joining the ambassador in recognizing CPEC staff for their outstanding contributions to the initiative's success.

Ambassador Jiang praised CPEC for its pivotal role in Pakistan’s economic growth, social development, and regional integration. He referred to it as a transformative network that fosters strategic partnerships between China and Pakistan.

Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the deep friendship between the two nations, cultivated through CPEC's success over the past decade. He commended the tireless efforts of the employees involved in infrastructure, energy, logistics, and technology projects, noting their vital role in shaping Pakistan's future.

This event celebrated the hard work and commitment of the teams, marking a milestone in the bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and China.
