Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has called for the urgent and efficient distribution of Chinese-donated agricultural machinery across all provinces. In a high-level CPEC review meeting held in Islamabad, the Minister instructed that provincial departments must ensure the machinery reaches grassroots-level institutions within ten days.
The donated equipment comprises forty tractors, forty multipurpose harvesters, and other advanced agricultural tools. This machinery aims to strengthen the operational capacity of agricultural research bodies and farming communities nationwide, directly contributing to Pakistan’s food security and long-term economic growth.
During the same session, the Planning Minister directed the Power Division, Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs to expedite the completion of the transmission line to Gwadar's South Free Zone. The timely establishment of this line is crucial for activating the 1.2 million gallons per day (MGD) Desalination Plant, a key infrastructure element to meet Gwadar’s growing water demands and support regional development.
