Enhanced Collaboration in CPEC Ventures: China and Pakistan Strengthen Ties, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson

China and Pakistan have significantly expanded their collaboration within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), achieving substantial advancements in green initiatives, information technology, industrial growth, and healthcare, according to statements by Mao Ning, the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson. During her routine press briefing, she emphasized the pivotal role of CPEC as a flagship project for bilateral cooperation, highlighting its positive impact on Pakistan's socioeconomic development and regional connectivity.

In recent years, the two nations have broadened their partnership within the framework of CPEC, making remarkable strides in various sectors, including environmentally sustainable practices, industrial expansion, information technology advancements, and healthcare improvements. Mao Ning also disclosed the successful convening of the inaugural meeting of the joint working group dedicated to Information Technology (IT).

China's contributions to the project include the donation of solar equipment to Baluchistan province and the steady progress of a green project at Gwadar port. Additionally, the two countries collaborated on COVID containment efforts.

Furthermore, the Chinese spokesperson expressed China's commitment to working closely with Pakistan to implement the mutually agreed-upon priorities of their leaders, with the aim of making CPEC an exemplar of high-quality cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative.

Notably, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's recent visit to China was characterized as unprecedented, constructive, and successful, reinforcing the commitment to further develop the health, industry, digital, and green corridors initiated earlier in the year and to foster relevant cooperation.
