Greening Gwadar: Sino-Pak Scientists' Transformative Efforts

Chinese and Pakistani scientists are collaborating to transform the arid landscape of Gwadar, a crucial hub along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, into a verdant oasis. Their innovative efforts involve cultivating a diverse array of plants uniquely suited to the local environment.

To date, they have successfully nurtured nearly 100,000 seedlings, encompassing banana trees, date palms, vibrant orchids, and robust fig trees. This remarkable achievement is spearheaded by the Belt and Road Engineering Research Center for Tropical Arid Non-wood Forest.

Notably, the Gwadar research center has become a focal point for burgeoning Sino-Pak cooperation. Distinguished Pakistani institutions such as the University of Karachi (KU), Indus University, and the University of Agriculture Faisalabad are actively contributing their expertise to this collaborative endeavor.
