Gwadar's Customs Collectorate has outperformed revenue expectations, surpassing targets by an impressive 114% in the initial half of the current fiscal year.
With a collection of Rs 7.261 billion in Customs duty, exceeding the designated target of Rs 6.351 billion, the Collectorate demonstrates substantial growth in revenue generation.
Compared to the previous year, total Customs duty collection has surged by 18%, reaching Rs 6.15 billion during the corresponding period.
Furthermore, the Collectorate has successfully gathered various duties and taxes amounting to Rs 20.4 billion, marking a 40% increase from the previous year's collection of Rs 14.55 billion.
The jurisdiction of the Gwadar Collectorate encompasses three vital border crossing points along the Pak-Iran border, facilitating trade in commodities like LPG, petroleum products, clinker, and dates.
This fiscal year witnesses a significant rise in goods clearance valuing at Rs 163.5 billion, a notable 25% increase from the previous year's Rs 130.0 billion.
Efficient monitoring, automation implementation, and trade facilitation initiatives at the border crossing points have contributed to enhanced revenue collection. These measures have not only streamlined trade operations but also encouraged local traders to engage in legal trade practices, bolstering the region's economic landscape.
