Pakistan is poised to host the two-day meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Islamabad on Tuesday and Wednesday. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the sessions, which will feature high-level representatives from key SCO member states. Attendees include the Prime Ministers of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, alongside the First Vice President of Iran and India's External Affairs Minister. Li Qiang, the Premier of the State Council of China, will also represent China. Notably, the Prime Minister of Mongolia will attend as an Observer State, while Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister joins as a Special Guest. This meeting will focus on enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including economy, trade, and socio-cultural linkages, and will review the organization's performance. Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to engage in important bilateral discussions with the visiting heads of delegations, enhancing diplomatic relations and fostering collaboration among member states.
