ISLAMABAD, Sep 4 (APP): Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, announced a transformative step for Pakistan's agriculture sector as 1,000 agricultural experts prepare for specialized training in China. This initiative, under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), aims to modernize farming techniques and boost productivity.
“Modernizing agriculture is crucial for our economic future, and fostering innovation in this field is one of the government's highest priorities,” Iqbal emphasized during a meeting focused on the upcoming expert training.
Key attendees included Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and senior officials from related ministries. Both ministers highlighted the importance of this training in upgrading Pakistan’s agricultural practices, which could significantly enhance crop yields and foster sustainable growth.
“The Prime Minister has directed us to equip our agricultural workforce with cutting-edge knowledge and skills from China,” Iqbal noted. He expressed confidence that this initiative will help Pakistan maximize its rich agricultural potential and address long-standing productivity challenges.
Rana Tanveer Hussain reiterated the government’s commitment to adopting the latest technology in farming to ensure a shift towards more efficient and modern agricultural methods, essential for future food security.
