Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, has reaffirmed that China’s “small and beautiful” projects and green development financing are in alignment with Pakistan’s national economic transformation plan (2024-2029). These projects also complement the upgraded phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Speaking at the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) conference, Ambassador Hashmi expressed appreciation for China’s continuous support in launching projects that drive inclusive development. CIDCA has been instrumental in enhancing local employment, capacity building, and economic cooperation between the two nations.
Hu Zhangliang, Vice-Chairman of CIDCA, emphasized China’s role as a global leader in foreign aid, dedicated to fostering international development and addressing global challenges. The agency’s latest reports highlight China’s contributions through sustainable development initiatives, including medical teams, Juncao technology, and Luban workshops.
These projects are a key part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), aimed at strengthening people-to-people bonds and socio-economic development in recipient nations. Looking ahead, China plans to scale up these initiatives, ensuring greater participation, improved efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
Additionally, China has invested 30 billion yuan ($4.11 billion) in green development projects since 2018, benefiting 75 countries. These projects span renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, climate change response, and environmental protection, further solidifying China’s commitment to global modernization and eco-friendly development.
