PCJCCI hails roadmap to accelerate CPEC Phase II implementation

The Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) has welcomed Pakistan’s newly introduced roadmap aimed at fast-tracking Phase II of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), describing it as a significant move toward high-tech industrialisation, stronger provincial coordination, and sustainable national development.

PCJCCI President Nazir Hussain, speaking on Tuesday, stated that CPEC Phase II marks a strategic shift from infrastructure-led growth to an innovation-driven development model. He said the new phase prioritises industrial upgradation, digital transformation, and the adoption of modern governance practices to strengthen Pakistan’s economic competitiveness.

He noted that the government’s declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Reform and Modernization” reflects a clear national commitment to reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks, fostering a pro-investment environment, and improving institutional efficiency. According to him, these reforms are essential for attracting foreign investment and ensuring long-term economic stability.

Nazir Hussain added that Pakistan’s renewed direction under CPEC Phase II represents a bold, future-oriented approach focused on technology, productivity, and inclusive growth, positioning the country to better integrate into regional and global value chains.
