Scheduled for his second visit to Beijing this month, the prime minister examined the preparations for mutually beneficial CPEC projects jointly undertaken by Pakistan and China.
Prime Minister Khan, as conveyed through a press release from his office, noted that the first phase of CPEC mainly consisted of a few power plants and three roads. In contrast, the second phase, under his government's leadership, will encompass initiatives in agriculture, education, healthcare, water management, skill-based education, skill development, transportation projects, and the modernization of Main Line-1.
He underscored CPEC's significance as a top government priority and expressed his desire for other countries to join this initiative, envisioning a new era of growth and prosperity for the region.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for National Food Security and Research Sahibzada Mahboob Sultan, Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Minister for Power Omar Ayub Khan, and other government representatives.
