Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif unveiled ambitious strategies for the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), highlighting the commencement of the ML-I rail project and the establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) nationwide to stimulate economic activities.
Addressing the 'Tax Excellence Awards' ceremony, the premier emphasized the imminent signing of an agreement with China for the second phase of CPEC, which he believes will expedite Pakistan's economic development.
In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz announced significant incentives for taxpayers, including issuance of blue passports and honorary titles of ambassadors, aiming to recognize their contributions to the nation's economy.
Furthermore, he underscored the importance of structural reforms, including the restructuring of the Federal Board of Revenue, to enhance tax collection efficiency and address pending litigations. Additionally, he emphasized the need for reducing tax slabs and boosting exports, IT, and agriculture development to achieve sustainable economic growth.
