ISLAMABAD – Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, emphasized the transformative impact of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on investment, technological transfer, and skill development during a ceremony for the “China Chamber of Commerce Sustainable Development Report 2023” held today in Islamabad.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by Chinese companies and workers, assuring that the Pakistani government is providing robust security measures for Chinese nationals involved in CPEC projects.
Efforts to streamline bureaucratic processes are underway to accelerate the second phase of CPEC, which has already generated 155,000 skilled and unskilled jobs for the local population.
Chinese Minister Counsellor Yang Guangyuan, also present at the event, noted significant improvements in economic indicators within three months of the new government’s operationalization, underscoring the positive momentum of CPEC.
