In a pivotal meeting held in Beijing, Chinese Defence Minister Dong Jun met with the Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, Zaheer Ahmad Babar, to reaffirm their commitment to enhancing the strategic cooperation between the two nations. Dong reiterated that China and Pakistan are “all-weather” strategic cooperative partners, whose enduring friendship has been continually reinforced despite shifting global dynamics.
Recent years have seen remarkable progress in Sino-Pak military relations, particularly in areas such as strategic communication, joint training exercises, and personnel exchange programmes. Minister Dong placed particular emphasis on the importance of the “Shaheen (Eagle)” joint military exercises, describing them as a key platform for strengthening bilateral military collaboration.
Guided by the leadership of both countries, China expressed its willingness to further intensify cooperation with Pakistan across a broad spectrum of military domains. The focus remains on enhancing operational coordination and maintaining a unified stance for promoting peace and stability at both regional and global levels.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar echoed these sentiments, stating that Pakistan regards its relationship with China as a cornerstone of its foreign policy. He expressed Pakistan Air Force’s dedication to expanding communication and institutional cooperation with its Chinese counterpart. With an evolving global security environment, Pakistan is committed to strengthening its joint exercises and contributing positively to overcoming mutual security challenges alongside China.
